I grew up in our family retail hardware business, became an Eagle Scout, graduated college in mechanical engineering and later in business economics, and served as a U.S. Naval Flight Officer.

My building career began with new construction — site development, engineering, permitting, foundations, framing, finish and trim.

Now, as a small General Contractor, LaFerney Construction focuses on smaller-size repair and improvement projects that call for skilled craftsmanship.  

We provide the following services:

• Room-by-room renovations
• Custom door and window construction and installation
• Finish carpentry – closets, built-ins, cabinets
• Trim carpentry – moulding, wainscotting

How We Work

As a general policy we:

• Work directly for home owners, not for other contractors or interior designers
• Obtain and comply with all required permits
• Coordinate where appropriate with engineers, plumbers, and electricians
• Collect sales tax and remit it to the State
• Use fixed-price written contracts and well-defined scopes of work
• Charge reasonable fees for site visits, project planning, and scope changes
